“What shape swimwear, best suits your body shape”

Finding the right swimwear can be extremely stressful and frustrating. Let’s face it, when it comes to swimwear…how many women do you know, who are fully comfortable with their body?
From a curvy body shape, to a small bust size & no curves…We want to help you find your best fit, to flatter your frame.

There are specific tips that can be used to help you choose your perfect suit. We ask you to start with a bit of self love and embrace your beautiful body and where it is now. It is not uncommon for women’s bodies to change as we head into our 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and onwards.

When shopping for your new swimsuit we ask you not to be too hard on yourself and most importantly to find a swim suit you love and feel confident in following our guidelines.

CURVY BODY SHAPE:

If you are curvy with a full bust, hips, thighs, and bottom choose a swimsuit that highlights your assets providing enough support and coverage for you to feel fabulous.

Wear bright colours on areas you want to highlight and dark colours on areas you want to detract attention from.

Colour blocking is a great way to highlight your shape.

Panelling and ruching will provide tummy support and the appearance of a flatter tummy.

Halter neck and asymmetrical suits draw the eye up toward the neckline.

Choosing a horizontal stripe pattern, will elongate your frame, hugging your curves in all the right places.

Prints that extend from your bust to your hip or across your body will create the illusion of a longer, leaner body.

NO CURVES:

For women with no curves, your main aim is to choose swimwear that will create the illusion of a shapelier feminine figure.

Create the appearance of more curves at top and bottom by choosing swimwear with bold prints, horizontal lines, ruffles, and embellishments.

Accentuate your bust with push up or padded tops.

The smaller the swimsuit bottom, the fuller and curvier your bottom will appear. Swimsuits with less coverage are great for women with no curves.

PEAR SHAPE:

If you are a pear shape, we suggest you aim to balance out your proportions. Choose a swimsuit that draws attention to your upper body.

It is important you get good coverage for your bottom half.

One piece swimsuits or tankini, are the most flattering for a pear shaped woman.

We recommend you opt for brightly coloured tops to accentuate your bust and a solid colour bottom to minimise your legs.

Choose a sexy plunging neckline, off the shoulder or a cut out to draw the eye upward.

TUMMY CONTROL:

If you carry your weight mostly in your mid section your main aim is to smooth out your middle region. Choose a swimsuit that accentuates your legs while giving you more coverage in the bust and tummy area.

Choose a one piece swimsuit to create the illusion of a smooth and flatter stomach which will make you appear leaner.

Panelling and ruching will provide tummy support and the appearance of a flatter tummy.

Streamline your waist with a tankini.

Print designs down the middle of the body elongate the torso.

Avoid bikini sets and low rise bottoms.

FULL BUST:

If you have a full bust choose coverage that will provide great support.

Thick straps, underwire and moulded cups will provide you with comfort and support, giving your bust a great shape.

Look for swimsuits that are constructed to support a larger bust like a regular bra and that have bra cup sizes D, DD, E……

V-shaped necklines or halter neck tops will flatter your bust and draw the eye line up.

Avoid skinny straps, push up, padding, ruffles or embellishments on your chest.

SMALL BUST:

If you have a small bust you may wish to choose a top that will create the illusion of a larger bust and curves.

A top with horizontal lines, ruffles, embellished detailing, bows, and patterns will create the illusion of a larger chest.

For an extra lift, push up tops or padded tops are great for creating cleavage and extra curves.

Halter tops and triangle bikini tops draw attention to your bust.

An additional tip when buying a swimsuit, is to remember the fabric expands when it gets wet, so if you are umming and erring about sizes, we recommend you go down to the smaller size.

Have fun with purchasing your new swimsuit. Be brave and try on a whole range of different swimsuits using our basic guide. Our main priority is you focus on your beach or poolside confidence.
